Religious Tolerance and World Peace

Jane Blanchard interviews Andrea “Andy” Blanch, PhD. Andy is the president and director of the Center for Religious Tolerance (CRT), a non-profit organization devoted to building interfaith tolerance and sustainable peace. Her goal is to shape a peaceful and sustainable future, with an emphasis on the role of women. She has worked for over 30 years as a social change agent. She was the founding director of the USF Collaborative on Conflict Management in Mental Health and the National Trauma Consortium and was a founding member of the Abrahamic Reunion, a group of religious and lay leaders working for peace in the Middle East.. She has done grassroots organizing in the Balkans and the Middle East She works locally and internationally to promote women in leadership and to help groups and organizations resolve conflict, heal embedded social and historical trauma, and create conditions for sustainable peace.  Dr. Blanch is a 2009 Women Living Religion Fellow in the Yale program on Women, Religion, and Globalization.
